Timeline of Milestones

1944 — Shiloh Baptist Church is organized under the leadership of Rev. Clarence Canty, Sr. in a storefront on Nostrand & Lexington Avenues.

1940s–1950s — Membership grows, and the congregation relocates to its permanent site at 349 Tompkins Avenue.

1981 — Through faith and sacrificial giving, the church acquires 347 Tompkins expand, and the cornerstone is laid on April 29.

1982 — Rev. Thomas E. Moore is called as Pastor; ministries expand and discipleship deepens.

1986 — Building renovations and church extension begin, including accessibility upgrades and media recording capabilities.

1982–2023 — Pastor Moore faithfully serves 40 years as pastor, leader, teacher, and spiritual father to the congregation.

Late 2022 — Pastor Moore blesses the appointment of Pastor F. Craig Henry to provide Communion-service leadership and support.

February 2023 — Pastor Moore is called home to be with the Lord.

April 30, 2023 — Pastor F. Craig Henry is unanimously elected as the third Pastor of Shiloh Baptist Church.

2023–Present — Worship revitalization, ministry expansion, and major facility upgrades (audio-visual system, sanctuary enhancements, and structural improvements) strengthen the church for future growth.
