Friday, January 2, 2026— A Productive Response & The Blessing of God’s Shaking

Scripture Reading: Haggai 2:4, 6–7

Devotional Thought: God not only called Israel to believe again — He called them to work again. Faith is not passive; it partners with effort. This is not the season for fear, excuses, or procrastination. God says, “Be strong… and work, for I am with you.”

If your relationship is going to heal —If your dreams are going to manifest —

If your future is going to change —

IT WILL TAKE WORK.

But while you work, God works too. So often we assume that everything depends on our effort, our strength, our strategy, our hustle. But Scripture reminds us that when we are doing our part, God is doing His.

While you are praying, He is positioning.

While you are sowing, He is multiplying.

While you are obeying, He is arranging the details you don’t see.

Ruth gleaned in the field — but God was orchestrating Boaz’s favor. The disciples cast their nets — but Jesus filled them.Israel marched around the walls — but God made them fall.

OUR WORK IS OBEDIENCE. GOD’S WORK IS OUTCOME.

And sometimes His work includes shaking your life. The shaking is not punishment — it is purification. It removes what was unstable, misaligned, or dependent on people rather than God. What survives the shaking is what was truly meant to stay. And after the shaking… the glory comes.

God is rearranging, rebuilding, and restoring so that what is ahead carries more purpose, more clarity, and more glory than what was behind. This is the season where you can boldly declare:“The Rest Of Me Will Be The Best Of Me — Because God’s Glory Is On My Life.”

REFLECTION QUESTIONS:

  • What areas of my life have I been avoiding instead of working on?

  • Where might God be shaking things to prepare me for greater glory?

  • Are there things the shaking is removing that I’m grasping for because of familiarity?

Prayer: Lord, give me courage to work where I’ve been hesitant and strength where I’ve grown weary. As I step into 2026, help me release the weight of past seasons and embrace the fresh opportunities You are placing before me. Help me trust You in every season of shaking, knowing that You are removing what doesn’t belong and preparing me for greater purpose in this new year. Order my priorities, align my thoughts, and anchor my faith so that 2026 becomes a year of growth, restoration, and forward movement. Fill my life, my home, my church, and my future with Your glory. Amen.

Action Step: Choose one area of your life that needs rebuilding — and take one courageous action toward it today.
