Friday January 23, 2026 Devotional- Rescued and Realigned

Devotional- God's rescue missions are never just about getting us out of trouble- they're about getting trouble out of us. When God delivered Jonah from the fish, He didn't just save his life; He transformed his heart and realigned his purpose. This is the beautiful pattern of God's redemption in our lives. True deliverance involves more than just changing our circumstances; it requires changing our hearts. 

Jonah emerged from that fish as a different man with a renewed commitment to God's calling. The same person who once ran from Nineveh would soon preach there with power and see an entire city turn to God. When God pulls you out of your rock bottom experience, He's not just rescuing you - He's realigning you. He's adjusting your priorities, refining your character, and redirecting your steps toward His purposes. 

The pain you've experienced isn't wasted; it becomes the foundation for your future ministry to others. Your story of failure and redemption becomes a beacon of hope for others who are struggling. The lessons you learned in the depths become wisdom you can share with those who are drowning. God doesn't waste our pain - He transforms it into purpose. 

As you emerge from your own difficult season, remember that God's goal isn't just to make you comfortable again. He wants to make you more like Christ, more compassionate toward others, and more committed to His calling on your life. Your rock bottom experience is preparing you for a comeback that will glorify God and bless others.

Reflection Question- How is God using your current or past struggles to realign your heart and prepare you for greater service to Him and others?

Quote God doesn't just pull you out. He lines you up. Not only does he pull you out and line you up, he doesn't just rescue you, he realigns you.

Prayer- Father, thank You that Your rescue always comes with realignment. As You deliver me from my struggles, help me to embrace the changes You want to make in my heart. Use my pain to develop compassion, my failures to build humility, and my restoration to bring hope to others. Align my will with Yours and use my story for Your glory. Amen.
