Key Scripture: 1 Corinthians 12:4–11
Definition
The gifts of healing are the Spirit-given abilities to restore health—physically, emotionally, or spiritually—through the power of God. These gifts reveal God as Jehovah Rapha, the Lord who heals.
Biblical Examples
In Acts 3:1–8, the lame man was healed through the power of Jesus’ name, demonstrating God’s ability to restore completely.
In Mark 5:25–34, the woman with the issue of blood was healed when she touched Jesus in faith. Her healing was both physical and personal—Jesus restored her body and affirmed her identity.
Devotional Thought
Healing is not just what God does—it is who He is. The gifts of healing reveal His compassion, power, and desire to restore what is broken. These gifts go beyond physical healing. God heals hearts, minds, and lives. He restores peace where there was anxiety, joy where there was sorrow, and wholeness where there was brokenness. Healing is often connected to faith, but it is always rooted in God’s grace. It is not earned—it is given.
We See Through Scripture That Healing:
1. Restores What Is BrokenWhether physical or emotional, God’s healing brings restoration. The lame man didn’t just walk—he leaped. The woman wasn’t just healed—she was made whole.
Key Insight: God’s healing is complete, not partial.
2. Flows Through Faith and the Power of Jesus’ NameHealing often operates where faith is present and Jesus is exalted. The power is not in people—it is in Him.
Key Insight: Healing flows where faith meets God’s power.
3. Reveals God’s Compassion and GloryEvery healing points back to God. It shows His love and draws people closer to Him.
Key Insight: Healing is a testimony of who God is.

Father, in the name of Jesus, I thank You for being my healer. You are Jehovah Rapha, and nothing is impossible for You.
