There are seasons in life that feel strange—not sinful, not broken, just unfamiliar. What once felt natural now feels awkward. What used to work no longer fits. You haven’t lost your faith, but you may feel as though you’ve lost your footing. These moments can be disorienting because nothing is visibly “wrong,” yet nothing feels the same.
A strange season often signals that God has shifted your environment before He explains your assignment. Like Abram, faith sometimes requires movement before clarity. God didn’t give Abram a detailed map—He gave him a command and a promise. That is where practical faith is formed: when obedience is required before understanding arrives.
Practical faith is not about having all the answers; it is about taking faithful steps with the light you have. In strange seasons, faith is rarely loud or dramatic—it is steady. It shows up in daily prayer, ethical decisions, continued service, and choosing trust when emotions lag behind obedience. This is where faith matures from belief into practice.
That unsettled feeling you’re experiencing may actually be a sign of growth beyond your comfort zone. Comfort thrives on familiarity, but growth demands transition. When God stretches your faith, He often removes the emotional cushions that once made obedience feel safe. Discomfort does not mean you are outside of God’s will—it often means you are moving deeper into it. This strange season is not a setback; it is preparation.

A strange season isn’t a pause—it’s preparation.

God of wisdom and direction,This season feels unfamiliar and, at times, uncomfortable.Yet I trust that You are not confused about where You are leading me.Teach me to walk by faith and not by sight. Help me practice obedience when answers are incompleteand patience when timing feels slow.
