5G Focus: GLOW

Scripture:— 2 Corinthians 12:9b (KJV)

Devotional Thought - Eventually, the irritation becomes a pearl. What once caused pain becomes something admired—not because the pain was pleasant, but because grace did its quiet, faithful work. Pearls do not advertise the wound that produced them, yet they unmistakably testify to the process that formed them.

In the same way, God does not waste weakness. When surrendered, weakness becomes the very place where His power takes residence. Paul did not deny his infirmity; he reframed it. What the world might call a liability, Paul recognized as holy ground—space where Christ’s strength could be clearly seen.

I apply this in my faith walk by reframing my weaknesses before trying to remove them. Instead of immediately asking God to take the struggle away, I ask what He is revealing through it. I stop labeling my limitations as obstacles and begin treating them as altars—places where God meets me daily and teaches me deeper trust. What once felt like an interruption may actually be part of how my calling is being shaped and revealed.

I also choose dependence over performance, allowing grace—not image or control—to interpret my story. When I pray before I feel ready, serve when I feel inadequate, and obey without waiting to feel strong, Christ’s strength becomes visible because it is clearly not my own. I commit to being honest in prayer, authentic in community, and humble in leadership, trusting that what I surrender becomes sacred space. Even when holy ground looks like a thorn or a lingering struggle, I walk confidently knowing this weakness is not wasted—God’s power is at work in me here.

Grace turns private pain into public testimony. Your struggle is not the end of the story—it is the setting. God’s glory shines brightest not through flawless lives, but through lives shaped by grace under pressure. When you stop hiding what hurts and place it in God’s hands, your weakness begins to GLOW—not drawing attention to you, but pointing unmistakably to Him.

Reflection Questions:

  • How has God already used a season of ‘ to reveal His strength in your life?

  • Which part of your story now serves as evidence of grace rather than shame?

  • Where might God be inviting you to stop concealing your vulnerability and allow His glory to shine through it?

Prayer

Father, I surrender every weakness, limitation, and lingering struggle into Your hands. I confess that I often try to hide what You want to heal and use. Teach me to trust that Your power rests most fully where I am most dependent on You. Let my life reflect the beauty of grace at work—transforming pain into purpose and weakness into witness. Shine through what You have redeemed, and let my story bring You glory. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
