Tuesday October 13, 2026- I Still Have Access!
Scripture Reading: Hebrews 4:16; Luke 22:42; 2 Corinthians 5:17

Devotional Reflection
One of the greatest blessings of being part of a family is knowing that you have access. You do not have to schedule an appointment to be heard by someone who loves you. You do not have to pretend that everything is fine when your heart is hurting. You can come honestly, openly, and confidently.
That is the invitation God extends to us through prayer. No matter what you have experienced, what mistakes you have made, or what labels others have placed on you, you still have access to your Heavenly Father. Your struggles do not cancel your invitation to His presence, and your past does not disqualify you from His grace.
Sometimes we allow our failures, fears, and disappointments to convince us that we should stay away from God. We feel unworthy because of our mistakes, ashamed of our weaknesses, or frustrated because we do not understand what He is doing. But prayer is not reserved for people who have everything together. Prayer is an invitation to bring our brokenness, questions, fears, and needs into the presence of our Father.
Through Jesus Christ, God offers us more than a fresh start; He gives us a new identity. II Corinthians 5:17 reminds us that anyone who is in Christ is a new creation. We are not defined by our worst moments, our former mistakes, or the opinions of others. Our identity is rooted in who God says we are. We are redeemed by His grace, loved by His mercy, and invited into a relationship with Him.
Your identity is not determined by what people call you, but by the One who has called you His own. Because you belong to Him, you can approach His throne with confidence, knowing that you will find mercy and grace in your time of need.
Yet access to God does not mean control over God. We can ask boldly while surrendering humbly. Sometimes the answer is yes, sometimes no, and sometimes we must wait. Like Jesus in Gethsemane, we learn to pray with honesty while declaring, “Not my will, but thine, be done” (Luke 22:42).
You may not understand God's timing, but you can trust His heart. You may not have the answer, but you still have access to the One who knows what you need. Never let a difficult season convince you that the door to your Father's presence is closed. You are not who your past says you are; you are who God says you are. You still have access, you still have an identity in Christ, and you still have a reason to pray!
The 5G Connection — GATHER
Gather: Come Into His Presence and Connect With His People
Gathering begins with drawing near to God and continues as we connect with fellow believers. We were not designed to navigate life alone. As we grow in our relationship with God, we should also strengthen our relationships with others. Let us gather in prayer, encourage one another in faith, and remind each other of the new identity we have through Jesus Christ.
Reflection Question
What past mistake, painful experience, or negative label have you allowed to shape your identity, and how can you replace it with the truth of God's Word?
Daily Challenge
Set aside 15 uninterrupted minutes to pray. Bring your concerns honestly before God, surrender the things you cannot control, and remind yourself of who you are in Christ. Then reach out to one person, offer encouragement, and ask how you can pray for them.
Prayer
Heavenly Father, thank You that I still have access to Your presence. Thank You that I do not have to hide my struggles, pretend to be stronger than I am, or allow my past to define my future. Help me release the labels others have placed on me and the ones I have placed on myself. Remind me that my identity is found in Jesus Christ and that Your grace is greater than my failures. Teach me to come boldly before Your throne while surrendering humbly to Your will. Help me trust You when the answer is delayed, remain faithful when the journey is difficult, and recognize Your presence in every season. Draw me closer to You and help me strengthen the connections I have with others. Let my prayer life become a place of honesty, peace, renewal, and transformation. In Jesus' name, Amen.
Declaration for Today
I STILL HAVE ACCESS! I can come boldly, pray honestly, and trust God completely. My past does not define me, the labels of others do not limit me, and my identity is secure in Christ. I am loved by my Father, covered by His grace, and empowered to walk in the new life He has given me.
