Shine Where You Are

It is easy to look at the problems in the world and feel completely overwhelmed. Injustice, division, fear, hopelessness. The darkness can feel so big that your small light seems almost pointless.

But Jesus never asked you to light the whole world by yourself. In Matthew 5:15, He painted a simple picture. You do not hide a lamp under a bowl. You put it on a

stand so it gives light to everyone in the house. Not everyone in the city. Not everyone in the country. Everyone in the house.

Your house might be your family, your workplace, your neighborhood, or your friend group. It is the specific space where God has placed you right now. And in that space, your light matters more than you know. You might not be able to solve every problem, but you can point one person toward Jesus. You might not be able to fix a broken system, but you can be honest when dishonesty is expected. You might not be able to heal every wound, but you can offer kindness where cruelty has become normal.

Shining where you are is not a small thing. It is exactly the thing. God did not place you in your current season by accident. He placed you there on purpose, with a light that someone nearby desperately needs to see. Stop waiting for a bigger platform. Start shining on the one you already have.

Are you waiting for a bigger opportunity to make a difference, while overlooking the people right in front of you who need your light today?

Prayer

Father, help me stop waiting for a bigger moment and start being faithful in this one. Show me who needs Your light through me today, right where I am. Amen.
