Wednesday January 28, 2026 Devotional Strength Revealed Through Weakness

Scripture: 2 Corinthians 12:9b

Devotional Thought→ This single sentence from God turns our understanding of strength upside down. The world tells us to cover our cracks, conceal our pain, and present ourselves as capable and composed. God says the opposite: BRING ME YOUR WEAKNESS.

We bring our weakness to God because it is in our weakness that His power is most clearly revealed. When we stop pretending to be strong and honest about our limitations, we make room for God to work in ways we could never accomplish on our own. Weakness strips away self-reliance and drives us into deeper dependence on Him, and that dependence draws us into intimacy with God. Rather than rejecting our weakness, God meets it with grace, strength, and purpose, turning what feels like a liability into a testimony of His power. When we surrender our weakness, God doesn’t shame us—He strengthens us.

Paul didn’t discover God’s strength in moments of applause or accomplishment, but in places of limitation, struggle, and dependence. God did not remove the thorn—He revealed His power through it. What Paul once viewed as a liability became the very location where grace flowed most freely.

Dependence on God deepens intimacy—drawing us closer to the heart of God. And in that closeness, divine power is released.

Paul’s response is startling: “Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities.” He learned that hiding weakness delays power, but surrendering weakness invites it. When you stop hiding your weakness, God starts displaying His power.

Prayer

Gracious God, I confess that I often try to appear strong, capable, and in control. I hide the places where I feel weak, afraid, or inadequate. But today, I bring those places to You. I surrender what I cannot fix, change, or overcome on my own. Teach me to depend on You fully, to trust Your grace completely, and to rest in Your sufficiency. Let my weakness become a doorway for Your power, my dependence a pathway to deeper intimacy with You. Be glorified in me—not through my strength, but through Yours. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
