Member Question 1→ Even when your life is not as bad as the next person and you know it. But you can’t help to think “why me” “why is this my life” “how did I get here?

Member Question 2→ How can you sense when God is calling you to change or grow ?

When “Why Me?” Becomes “What Now, God?”

Scripture Focus  Jeremiah 1:5; Psalm 139:23–24;  Ephesians 2:10

Devotional Thought→ There are moments when life isn’t falling apart—yet your heart feels unsettled. You look around and know others have it worse, but the questions still rise: “Why me?” “Why is this my life?” “How did I get here?”

Those questions are not signs of ingratitude; they are signals of awakening. Often, they surface not when life is unbearable, but when life is misaligned. God does not only speak in crisis—sometimes He speaks in discomfort, holy dissatisfaction, and quiet restlessness.

The “why me” season is often God’s gentle nudge saying, “There is more in you than this version you’re living.” Growth calls us when the familiar no longer fits, when grace has outgrown our comfort zone. What feels like frustration may actually be an invitation.

You sense God calling you to change or grow when:

  • What once satisfied you no longer brings peace.

  • You feel convicted, not condemned

  • The Spirit keeps bringing the same truth to your attention

  • Staying the same feels heavier than the risk of obedience

This is not punishment—it is formation. God is not asking you to compare your pain to others; He is asking you to listen to what He is shaping in you.

5G Vision Connection

  • Grace – God meets you with grace before you ever understand the lesson.

  • Gather – God draws your scattered questions into His presence.

  • Grow – Holy discomfort becomes the soil for spiritual maturity.

  • Glow – Your obedience becomes a witness that growth is possible.

  • Go – Once you discern the call, God sends you forward—not stuck in “why,” but walking in “what’s next.”

REFLECTION QUESTIONS

  1. What recurring questions or discomforts has God been allowing to surface in my heart?

  2. Am I asking “why me” because I am hurting—or because God is stretching me?

  3. What might God be inviting me to release, realign, or renew in this season?

Prayer→ Gracious God,  You see the questions I carry—the ones I don’t always say out loud. When my life feels confusing, when I wonder how I arrived here, help me to trust that You are not finished with me. Quiet my comparisons and sharpen my discernment. Teach me to recognize when discomfort is Your call to grow. Give me courage to change, humility to listen, and faith to follow. Lead me where You are shaping me next. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Faith Affirmation

I declare that my questions are not wasted—

they are part of God’s process.

I trust that holy discomfort is leading me toward growth, not away from God.

I am being formed, not forgotten.

I will listen, obey, and grow into the life God is calling me to live.
