Wednesday June 23, 2026- Progress, Not Perfection—Just Keep Walking

One of the most liberating truths in the Christian life is this: God is not waiting for you to become perfect before He uses you. He is walking with you as you progress.

Too many believers put their spiritual growth on hold because they feel unqualified. They think they need to be stronger, wiser, more disciplined, more healed, or more consistent before they can fully surrender to God. But throughout Scripture, God has never been in the business of calling perfect people. He calls willing people and then transforms them along the journey.

Noah is a powerful example of this truth. Genesis describes him as a man who "walked with God" in a generation that had completely abandoned Him. Noah was not sinless. In fact, Scripture later records some of Noah's failures. Yet God chose him, not because he had a flawless record, but because he had a faithful heart. While everyone else was moving away from God, Noah was moving toward Him. That is what grace looks for—not perfection, but progression.

Walking with God is not about never stumbling. It is about refusing to stop. Some days your walk will feel strong and confident. Other days it may feel like you are barely putting one foot in front of the other. Both count. What matters is that you keep walking.

The enemy wants you to focus on how far you still have to go. Grace reminds you to look at how far God has already brought you.

What broke you last year should not carry the same power this year.

What once controlled you should not have the same grip today.

Growth is the evidence that God's grace is actively working in your life.

Every prayer prayed, every temptation resisted, every act of obedience, every step of faith—even the small ones—are signs that God is still shaping you.

You do not have to arrive before God can use you. You do not have to have everything figured out before you trust Him. You do not have to fit in, have all the answers, or be flawless.

You simply have to keep saying, "Lord, here I am. I may not be everything I should be, but I am available to You."

God meets you where you are, but He loves you too much to leave you there. His grace saves you, sustains you, strengthens you, and steadily transforms you as you walk with Him.

So stop measuring yourself against perfection and start celebrating progression. Keep taking the next step. Keep trusting. Keep growing. Keep walking.

Because every step forward is proof that God is not finished with you yet.

Where in your life have you been waiting to feel "ready" before fully trusting God, and what is one step of faith you can take today to keep walking forward with Him?

Prayer

Father, thank You that Your love for me is not based on my perfection but on Your grace. Too often I focus on my failures, my weaknesses, and the places where I fall short. Yet You continue to call me, walk with me, and work in me.

When I become discouraged by how far I have left to go, remind me of how far You have already brought me. When I stumble, teach me not to stay down. When I grow weary, strengthen my heart to keep walking. Deliver me from the pressure of perfection and anchor me in the promise of Your presence.

Help me to trust that every act of obedience matters, every step of faith counts, and every surrender opens the door for Your transforming power. Empty me of pride, fear, comparison, and self-reliance. Fill me with humility, courage, perseverance, and a deeper hunger for You.

Lord, make my life a testimony that Your grace is greater than my failures and that Your power is perfected in weakness. Let me walk with You faithfully in a world that often walks away from You. And when my journey is complete, may it be said of me, as it was of Noah, that I walked with God.
